Adam Warner a fiercely unremarkable story
The penultimate taboo subject
Adam was born normal but within hours a medical error had scarred part of his brain and life would never be the same.
He was turned into a person crippled with Cerebral Palsy.
One mistake by a surgeon and he became something part way between a normal human being and a vegetable
He was a member of Nigel’s form (tutor group) in years 10 and 11 and has remained a good friend ever since. Over a recent lunch in Cafe Rouge it became obvious that it would help him do what he wants to do with his life if he could publish a book about his fight to be treated as normal, and what the incredible pain and mental anguish has so far taught him.
The trouble is, Adam ain’t a writer.
Simple and exciting solution: Nigel construct and write the book for him.

Adam has many friends out there: we want your help!

Some but not all work in progress will appear here.
If you would like to see complete drafts of where the book is at, and maybe comment, let us know.
Where we’re at
22 June 2009: So far we’ve had a couple of long interview/chats with the digital
recorder running and me (Nigel) making detailed notes. The shape of the book is
becoming clearer, but whenever I sit down to write part of it I find myself listing
so many questions for the next time I see Adam that I keep having to put that section
on hold. Presumably this aspect will get easier the further we are into the book.
I’m learning a lot, and it’s changing me -

Where we’re at 2
7 December 2009: I’ve had a number of problems since June, mainly connected with being ill. We’ve made some progress with the book, but it’s been much slower than I expected.
Things are beginning to look up though. Energy is returning, and time is being freed up. We should be able to get back on schedule by the end of this year.
Still a lot of people to interview.
