Please bear with me while I enjoy feeling this good
If I’m severely depressed there’s not a lot I can do except get on with whatever bits of life I can handle and otherwise just wait for improvement to come.
When I feel good it’s tempting to forget I suffer these bad periods and just get on with living a full life. This would be a mistake.
It is when you feel better, have more energy, can think more clearly and take interest in your surroundings that you are at last capable of making some permanent changes.
Future articles will look at some of the possibilities, but for now it would be good to take on board this fairly obvious but mildly annoying fact: if depression keeps returning then each time you’re well you need to do more work preparing yourself for next time.
It’s a lifetime journey, and it can be fun.
