Changes to what I’ll be writing about on THIS blog

Adam Warner and I are moving our plans steadily towards launching the new publishing business.

Our web site is now up and running, though not perfect. Let us know what you think. It’s at http://www.adelpublishing.co.uk .

And I’m now writing a second blog which is for readers, writers and anyone interested in how publishing [...]

Wrong question,wrong direction

What did I do to deserve this?

It’s not fair!

Why was I born with so many problems?

It’s not fair!

Why wasn’t I born better looking,healthier,stronger?

It’s not fair!

Life hurts.

I’m too old/young.

I was born at the wrong time for a person like me.

I don’t know the right people.

Me and my maybe ME

The Doctor has typed it into her computer as post-viral fatigue, partly so that if any fresh symptom appears and I see some other Doctor they won’t just pass it off as ME-related.

Maybe it has been ME,which stands for Myalgic Encephalopathy, and is also called Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. There’s more information on this [...]

Spam spam spam spam spam

Genuine comments are very welcome.

Spam is not.

I’m now averaging 19 spam attempts a day. Over Saturday night 96 spam comments landed in the spam filter to be deleted.

Some are clearly from the same source, but from a wide range of addresses. Are these private addresses for people whose computers have been taken [...]

Targetting the old passion

There’ve been no posts for a while because I’m very low on energy and fairly down. I’m doing other things, but enthusiasm for writing more of the same stuff has,at least for now, gone. The thought of continuing any of the article series I’ve started is oppressive and draining.

So do not be surprised [...]

How to ensure the poor are always with us

Our town has many charity shops selling cheap but smart second-hand clothes. Whether or not you feel happy buying this sort of clothing for your family is just a matter of attitude. You don't have to be rich to be well clothed. You do have to be less concerned with the latest fashions or [...]

Sorry about the absence of recent posts

I’ve just noticed I last posted nearly a month ago. This is not intentional. A number of things have been distracting me and leaving me too stressed to write the next in the ‘types of counselling’series the way I want to. Other pressures will soon ease. But don’t be surprised if I bung in [...]

Dad was not racist,he was depressed and a man of his time

New page:‘article series’

Some sets of articles are written to go together in a particular order. To make it easier to find these I’ve added a tab (above) called ARTICLE SERIES. Click that to find such stuff.

So far I’ve only put in the series on effective goal-setting,which as of today (7 Nov 2009) is still being [...]

Life at the top

I recently heard a powerful and moving quote from best-selling thriller writer Jack Higgins (aka Harry Patterson),author of ‘The Eagle Has Landed’.

Apparently Higgins was asked if there was anything he wished he had been told when younger. He replied,“I wish someone had told me that when I got to the top there [...]
